Allergypot is an association composed of parents who have children suffering from allergy. With the increasing number of people suffering from allergy (i.e. asthma, atopic dermatitis, food allergy, etc.), it is estimated that nearly one in three Japanese have some kind of allergy today. We started out as a group to support children who are suffering from allergic symptoms by actively working with schools and other educational institutions so that the teachers and staff working with children would have a broader understanding of allergy and the kind of care children with allergy need. Our goal is to make it possible for the children, parents, and family members become actively involved in learning about the disease, and share their experiences about treatment and child rearing with each other, so that eventually, enough valuable information would be accumulated to offer to other patients and the society. |
